Certifications

BioMar is regularly audited and certified by competent authorities and organisations for the certifications of products and processes.

ISO 9001:2015

The single most important certification of BioMar is the ISO 9001 standard. Since 1994, BioMar A/S has been certified according to the ISO 9001 standard. In 2003, the certification was upgraded according to the revised standard - ISO 9001:2000, and in June 2018, BioMar was certified according to the 9001:2015 standard.

ISO 9001:2015 is a dynamic system, which implies that quality assurance is an ongoing process that is on the agenda every day. This ensures continuous improvement and streamlining of processes and routines. All for the benefit of both BioMar and our customers.

The quality assurance system is described in an electronic system, which all employees can access.

GLOBALG.A.P

The abbreviation "G.A.P."  in GLOBALG.A.P. stands for Good Agriculture Practice, but the certification covers both agriculture and aquaculture – and in the case of BioMar –  the manufacturing of feed for aquaculture.

GLOBALG.A.P. is a private sector body that sets voluntary standards for the certification of production processes of agricultural and aquaculture products around the globe.

The GLOBALG.A.P. standard is primarily designed to reassure consumers about how food is produced on the farm by minimising detrimental environmental impacts of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare.

Other certifications

A large number of other certifications complements the ISO certifications; it can be certifications from large retailers - like the Italian COOP or French Carrefour supermarket chains - or from national authorities like the Danish Plant Directorate responsible for e.g. certifying BioMar for handling and production of feed products for organic fish production.

But common for all the certifications is that they contribute to the goal of securing that consumers can trust the quality of the fish product they eat.
