Following the invasion of Ukraine, BioMar Group shuts down all trade activities with Russia. The decision includes sales of finished products as well as the sourcing of raw materials.

New RAS feed targets the bottleneck in marine nurseries

BioMar announces a new RAS feed concept, LARVIVA ORBIT, that aims to improve the efficiency of marine nurseries. It will support an industry move of a prolonged time at hatchery for fry before they are transferred to sea. This will aid in the expected acceleration in the use of RAS technology in marine nurseries, and thereby support the development of hatchery businesses for marine fish species.

SmartCare – the new name of functional feed solutions of BioMar EMEA

BioMar’s well proven functional feeds on markets served by BioMar EMEA Division are renamed SmartCare.

BioMar JV employs new Managing Director in Turkey

The BioMar joint venture in Turkey, BioMar-Sagun has chosen a Managing Director to head the business. Yasemin İşsever who has held a senior management role at Abalıoǧlu, is a well-respected profile in the Turkish aquaculture industry with a strong track record leading businesses within farming, processing, and feed manufacturing. She accepted to take on the challenge of heading up the company, filling the vacancy left by Bora Aydemir.

High use of trimmings and the use of novel ingredients has enabled BioMar Group to achieve a five-year average of 1:1 or below Forage Fish Dependency Ratio for its raw material usage. This is one of many findings revealed in its Integrated Sustainability Report for 2019, released today.
